Was surfing over QF rewards and found flight HKG-DXB-MXP by EK. Not only Business is DEARER than First, but also have a look at taxes! They are in HKD, but it is still a lot! Anyone know what is going on?

NB for some reason could not attach picture. In numbers - Business Classic Reward 164,800; First Classic Rewards 149,800 and taxes for both $6,785 in HKD. Moreover taxes in one way for economy are 4,216 that is 8,432 in HKD or about 1,570 in AUD for return. Meanwhile economy ticket by Emirates is $1,131 AUD return. Is anyone understand anything?!?

I'm seeing it too (compare Classic Reward Business and First prices, for example, on October 2 [164800 for Business Classic Reward], October 4 [104,500 for a Business Classic Reward] and October 5 [149,800 for a First Classic Reward]). I can only assume that the 164800 figure is a glitch, as that's way too high. The other possibility is that it's actually an "Any Seat" award which is being incorrectly advertised as a "Classic Flight Reward".

As for the high carrier charges -- that's typical Emirates. They massively hiked their carrier charges last year (and used "high fuel prices" or some such excuse as the pretext).

Its not a glitch and it also isn't an any seat award. It is dynamic award pricing which is seen often on partner airlines. Cathay Premium Economy awards are often the same price as business class when there is high demand for that cabin. The any seat award for business on Emirates would still be 500K+

That's right. These extortionately high carrier charges from Emirates are not surprising; we've been discussing it a lot here and in other forums since last year.

I'm sorry, but there's absolutely no mention that Qantas has introduced dynamic award pricing for Emirates flights on Qantas' Classic Flight Award tables or (to my knowledge) anywhere else. I know that other airlines do it but for Qantas to introduce dynamic pricing on Emirates flights without announcing it would be appalling even by Qantas' low customer service standards.
