That is nothing more than a rumour that is generally used to push someone's agenda.  Unlikely that UA would agree unless they buy a stake in VA, and chances of that is probably close to zero.

VA and EY doesn't codeshare internationally anymore since EY was replaced by QR as VA's major partner.  EY only has a unilateral domestic codeshare on VA Domestic for the EY FFs.
