Just doing a few searches for USA travel later this year, noticing the "sample" photo when selecting a cabin class on certain flights (particularly Houston-Auckland, on August 11) shows the new premium economy and business class seats. Flights from LAX, SFO, JFK and ORD do not show this. I wonder if this is real, or a glitch given we haven't heard anything official from them about a launch date?

Not exactly the new business cabin (or redesign) you’re looking for, but still miles ahead of the awful current offering by AirNZ.

What you’re seeing is the old Cathay Business which is fitted in the single 777-330er AirNZ is leasing from Cathay.

oh, that’s great to know. I thought it was odd looking. Air New Zealand’s hard product legitimately sucks - how can they possible charge a premium and get away with it?

Air NZ have also just announced a delay to their ULH config B787-9 delivery date. It's blown about by about 6 months at least. So you'll have to wait even longer to see that.
