While I’m familiar with the regular issues with the Qantas website freezing / crashing on those it’s previously dropped cookies upon, and the workaround (incognito mode or alternate browser) I’ve noticed a new tech problem on three separate days over the last fortnight or so that I’m surprised isn’t being discussed more widely.
At least one of the overseas call centres seems to be having awful VOIP connectivity problems. A few moments into each call, the agent’s voice begins to break up until it becomes impossible to hear. Sometimes the call drops out altogether, and they call you back, without having been requested. Eventually - and only if you ask the question directly - they concede it’s a technical problem at their end, and then claim it’s just started to happen in the last few minutes.
Given that I’ve had it happen on every call I’ve needed to make recently (platinum, not WP, so not routing automatically to Hobart) it makes me wonder how bad the problem is. Anybody else noticed?
Horrible quality of voice calls due to dirt cheap VOIP happens not just with Qantas and on the contrary it is quite spread everywhere. And it is especially annoying when this happens to telco companies.
