Dear All has anyone else had the nightmare of dealing with Velocity call center. Even as a Platinum on Virgin, asking for the simplest things, please give me root canal without anesthetic Their call center goes to the Philippines. They have hung up 3 times on my PA, let alone myself. Even when I wanted to use points to book a car, it was bedlam. Still can't, as you have to join some other Loyalty program. I have 4 Free Upgrade Certificates, which apparently you cannot use till 24 hours before your flight, but every time we try and use, they do not have a seat for the upgrade. It's a real shame whoever runs this program should be fired and replaced. Their Cabin Crew in Business are a real delight, better than QANTAS domestic. But their Loyalty program is the worst on the market.
Velocity is by far the superior ffp here in Australia atm with strong availability in premium cabins out of Australian ports unlike QF which is woeful. If you don't like Velocity send your points to krisflyer or fly Qantas at 5 times the price 🤣🤣
I've never seen an airline destroy itself as fast as this one is. I guess though for Jane getting an astronomical bonus for running at a continual profit has no limits. It's incredibly sad. Every platinum member I have spoken to has had a litany of complaints. Many are now ditching the airline for the smaller competitors. Certainly has a Qantasand Jetstar feel. I wonder why.....

This used to be the case, but it's not my experience lately. QFF has really improved in their availability in J class, and generally less points than Velocity. And the only J class I've found for points redemption is on SQ MEL - SIN... for more points and taxes than QF MEL - LAX.

100% agree. VA is an embarrassing shadow of its pre-pandemic former self. It’s gone from being a truly great airline to one where mediocrity is seemingly good enough; dare I suggest… admired! Perhaps it’s no coincidence it reminds many pax of the decline of QF under a similar management style. As for the call centre; I’ve been VA Plat for a decade and never known it to be worse. Seemingly though, the management are not concerned by the state of the call centre, the increasing unreliability of the airline, the penny-pinching catering, the declining business class service, etc, etc. Its very disappointing, though just another example of corporate Australia behaviour writ large.

At least their loyalty program rewards points based on the cost of the ticket. I earn a hell of a lot more points than flying QF!
